Coefficient of Friction Tester
The Coefficient of Friction (COF) Tester is designed to determine the static and kinetic coefficient of friction between film-to-film, film-to-metal, and film-to-glass surfaces. Measuring friction characteristics is essential for evaluating the handling, processing, and performance properties of plastic films.
The instrument consists of a precision-engineered platform of specified dimensions that tilts at a constant angular speed, driven by a synchronous motor. A standard sled of defined weight and size is placed on the test specimen to measure the frictional resistance accurately.
The equipment features a durable metallic painted body with bright chrome-plated components, ensuring corrosion resistance and long service life.

Comb Sorter Tester
The Comb Sorter Tester is a laboratory instrument used to determine the fibre length distribution of various textile fibres. Fibre length is one of the most important physical properties, as it directly influences spinning performance, yarn strength, uniformity, and overall fabric quality.
By manually combing and arranging fibres according to their length, the instrument helps calculate average fibre length and length distribution. Generally, fibres with a longer average length are preferred, as they provide better yarn strength, improved evenness, and reduced fibre loss during processing.
The Comb Sorter can be used for testing cotton, wool, viscose, polyester, and other staple fibres or yarns, making it an essential tool for textile laboratories, spinning mills, and research institutions.

Compression Apparatus – Strain
Compression set at constant strain is defined as the difference between the original thickness of a test specimen and its thickness after recovery, expressed as a percentage of the initial compression applied. This test measures the ability of vulcanized rubber to retain its elastic properties after being subjected to prolonged compression under constant strain.
In this method, cylindrical disc-shaped test specimens are compressed to a specified strain and maintained under controlled temperature conditions for a defined period. After the compression period, the specimens are allowed to recover, and the compression set value is calculated.
The “IKON” Compression Set Apparatus (Constant Strain Type) is specifically designed to determine the compression set of vulcanized natural and synthetic rubber materials, ensuring accurate and reliable testing results for quality control and research applications.

Compression Set Apparatus At Strain
Compression set at constant strain is defined as the difference between the original thickness of a test specimen and its thickness after recovery, expressed as a percentage of the initially applied compression. This test measures the ability of vulcanized rubber to retain its elastic properties after prolonged compression under a constant strain.
In this method, cylindrical disc-shaped specimens are subjected to a fixed compression for a specified time at a controlled temperature. After removal of the load and allowing the specimen to recover, the compression set value is calculated.
The IKON Compression Set Apparatus is specially designed to determine the compression set of vulcanized natural and synthetic rubbers under constant strain conditions. It is available in the following two models:
-

Compression Set Apparatus At Stress
Compression set testing under constant stress is used to evaluate the ability of rubber compounds to retain their elastic properties after prolonged exposure to a specified compressive load under static conditions.
The “IKON” Compression Set Apparatus (Constant Stress Type) is designed for accurate determination of compression set characteristics under a constant applied load. The unit comprises a calibrated loading spring, precision-ground and chromium-plated carbon steel plates, and a screw mechanism for compressing the spring. The complete assembly is mounted on a rigid metallic base and is portable for convenient use.
During testing, the specimen is placed between the compression plates and the required load is applied by compressing the calibrated spring. The applied load can be determined from a load-deflection graph, with spring deflection indicated by a pointer on a fixed scale. The entire assembly can be placed inside an oven to conduct tests at elevated temperatures.
The apparatus features a durable dark grey hammer-tone painted body with bright chrome-plated components for corrosion resistance.
Optional accessories include molding and cutting dies for specimen preparation and a thickness gauge for accurate measurement of specimen thickness.

Core Crush Tester
The Core Crush Tester is designed to measure the crushing strength of paper cores, paper tubes, and bobbins. It determines the maximum pressure that can be applied to the surface of the carrier until it collapses.
During the test, the specimen is subjected to increasing compressive load. The sharp collapsing point is accurately detected, and the crushing strength value is displayed directly on the digital indicator for clear and precise readings.
This instrument is ideal for paper mills, packaging manufacturers, and core production units to ensure product strength, durability, and quality compliance.
