Stelometer Instrument
The Stelometer is a precision testing instrument used to measure the strength and elongation of textile fibres. It is widely used to evaluate the possible adverse effects of fibre preparation processes and to ensure that treatments such as dyeing do not weaken or damage the fibres.
Fibre strength and elongation together determine the overall “toughness” of a fibre. Strong fibres are essential for producing durable yarn, while fibres with appropriate elongation provide flexibility and stretch to the finished fabric. These two characteristics are critical quality parameters in the yarn spinning and textile industries.
Fibre purchasers use the Stelometer to assess strength and elongation to ensure consistent raw material quality. Researchers rely on it to develop stronger and more resilient cotton, animal, and man-made fibres, while fibre manufacturers use the instrument as part of their routine production quality control procedures.

Stiffness Tester (Taber Type)
The Stiffness Tester (Taber Type) is designed to evaluate the stiffness and resilience of paper, plastics, cardboard, light metallic sheets, foil, and other flexible materials with comparatively high bending resistance.
In this test, a 38 mm wide specimen is clamped between a vice mounted on a balanced pendulum supported by antifriction bearings and a lower clamp fixed on a rotating disc. The specimen is bent to an angle of 15° at a constant speed. When the effective load length reaches 50 mm, the bending moment required to deflect the specimen is measured in g·cm units, and the stiffness value is determined. The disc rotates both clockwise and counterclockwise, allowing stiffness measurement in both directions.
Measuring Range: 0–5000 Stiffness Units
Optional Accessory: Triple shear cutter for accurate sample preparation
Dimensions: 10” × 11” × 16”
Ideal for paper mills, packaging industries, and material testing laboratories requiring precise stiffness evaluation.
