Bond Peel Adhesion Tester
The Bond Peel Adhesion Tester is designed to measure the adhesive or bond strength between two materials. Peel or adhesion testing is performed by applying a tensile load to separate bonded materials under controlled conditions. Depending on the application, the test can be conducted using one of the following methods:
- T-Peel Test: Two flexible materials are pulled axially away from each other, forming a “T” shape.
- 180° Peel Test: A flexible material is peeled away from a rigid substrate, with both held vertically.
- 90° Peel Test: A flexible material is peeled from a rigid substrate held horizontally.
For example, separating the backing from an adhesive bandage is a T-peel test; removing the backing from a blister pack may involve a 90° or 180° peel; and peeling the seal from a yogurt container typically involves a 90° peel. Variations in material flexibility, thickness, and shape may require different grips and fixtures to ensure accurate and repeatable testing.
